Production notes
Hand-harvested into 15kg crates, then hand-sorted at the winery prior to pre-fermentation maceration in cement vats for 7 days, using indigenous and selected yeasts. Aged on the skins for 20 days, followed by natural malolactic fermentation, again in cement vats. Aged in French oak barrels (1/3 new, 1/3 second-fill and 1/3 third-fill) for 12 months before bottling.
Tasting notes
An intense red colour with purple hues. On the nose, there are pronounced aromas of red and black fruits, with subtle floral notes and hints of white pepper, cloves and vanilla. The palate is silky, with round, well-integrated tannins. It stands out for its balance and structure, with a refreshing acidity that lends it a lively character. The fruit aromas linger on the palate, with notes of blackberries and raspberries complemented by delicate hints of wood and spice. The finish is long and lingering, leaving a pleasant sensation on the palate with notes of liquorice.
